Language Immersion Foreign Travel (LIFT) Scholarship

Are you a Year 10 or 11 High School student? The Institute of Modern Languages is delighted to offer a scholarship for an intensive language immersion program overseas. Thanks to our generous donor and UQ Advancement, one high school student with financial need will have an immersive foreign travel experience that facilitates an exploration of language and culture.

I did a German course at IML a few years ago in preparation for exchange studies in Germany. It inspired my love of languages. I then came back to learn Arabic because I knew IML was a great place to learn. Having a second language has made me more employable.

Katherine McElrea, IML Alumni

At UQ-IML, High School students can gain cultural understanding whilst improving their listening, reading, speaking and writing skills in an immersive environment. Download the Summer 2020 brochure for all information about the IML High School Program.
