Exciting news, we will offer French and Japanese for beginners in Year 7-8 of High School during the running of this program.
Our High School Program classes are taught by teachers with native-like proficiency. Gain cultural understanding whilst improving your listening, reading, speaking and writing skills in an immersive environment.
As a global citizen, enhance your employability prospects, develop cultural competency as well as deepen your intercultural understanding while improving proficiency in your chosen language.

IML high school language enrichment programs are for students who wish to begin their study of French or Japanese in Years 7 and 8 or further their study of French, German, Japanese or Spanish in Years 9 and 10 or Years 11 and 12 in 2026.
The goal of these programs is to increase students’ proficiency and fluency by using the language for communicative purposes. The focus will be on enjoyment in an assessment-free environment.
The Year 11 and 12 program is designed for language students in their Senior phase of learning who are completing:
- Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) or
- International Baccalaureate program (IB) - minimum for the IML program is at least one year of language studies.
Thanks to the nature of language learning, all our High School Enrichment Program courses will be beneficial for high school students from around the country.
Prerequisites:
IML High School Enrichment langugage courses require that students have completed at least one year of language studies in their chosen language.
No prerequisites for Year 7 and 8 students enrolling in French or Japanese courses as they are aimed at pure beginners.
