Learn French for everyday situations. We offer French classes that are interactive, communicative and affordable. Step into one of IML’s online or on-campus classes, where you will learn from a qualified French tutor and meet like-minded language students. IML French language lessons are delivered live via the Zoom video conferencing software or on the UQ St Lucia campus. There are no entry requirements - simply enrol online to begin your language journey!

At IML, the choice of level is based on self-assessment. You can find out which IML language course best meets your learning goals by reading course descriptions or checking our Level Guide.

IML French classes for Beginners

If you are new to French study, you can choose from one of the following options, depending on your availability and learning objectives. Survival and Short Courses focus on speaking and listening skills. Level 1A+B offers more in-depth study of French, including reading and writing skills, and will prepare you for a Level 2A+B course.

For students with previous knowledge of French

The choice of level is based on self-assessment. To select the most appropriate course, we encourage students to compare course outlines for each level. Students can also view the Level Guide below for more information.
